Due to the location, there is no public road for cars leading directly to the cottage.
I recommend leaving your car in the parking lot at the U Sachovy studánky ski resort, from where you can walk to the cottage in 15 minutes at a brisk pace. I’ve tested this route myself, even with three small children—the walk from the parking lot takes 25 minutes with kids.
I’ll send you a detailed map of the route once your reservation is confirmed.

Experience romance without cell service in the wilderness of the Beskydy Mountains, where your only concern will be gathering firewood

The cottage can accommodate anything from a romantic couple to a group of ten mountain lovers. The number of guests can be increased by arrangement—the cottage has up to 12 beds, or you can all snuggle up together in one bed at night

Cottage amenities: entry porch, fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove (dishes, glasses, mugs, microwave, electric kettle, refrigerator), two bedrooms with 4 beds in each, bedding provided according to the number of guests—a wood-burning stove in each bedroom, bathroom and kitchen without running water—you must use water from the well and, if necessary, heat it on the stove located directly in the bathroom, chemical toilet
A small stream flows less than 100 meters below the cabin, where you can wash dishes and bathe... You can also bring this water back to the cabin to wash your hands, etc. We regularly replenish the drinking water supply.
Right next to the cottage, there’s also a tap for non-potable water (not available in winter).

Definitely don’t expect a white bed with a comforter, running water, free Wi-Fi, or a flush toilet.
Just leave your cell phones at home—there’s no signal there anyway. The cottage has board games available to borrow, and for kids, there’s even a train set!
And there’s also peace and quiet and wellness for the soul for adults (see also the rules of stay).

We recommend bringing: a backpack for the walk from the parking lot, appropriate footwear and clothing, a printed or written copy of the door code, and a headlamp

Once upon a time, there was a family—a father, a mother, and their two sons—who lived in a small, modern town at the beginning of the 21st century. They lived peacefully, but their lives were filled with technology, cell phones, computers, and cars. One day, however, something unexpected happened.

While exploring an old attic, they stumbled upon a mysterious old clockwork machine that looked like it was from another century. The sons began playing with it, and suddenly something strange happened. The clockwork mechanism spun into motion, and the entire family was mysteriously transported back to the century before last—roughly the mid-18th century.

They found themselves in a bustling town square in a small town, where the clatter of wagon wheels echoed, people moved about in period costumes, and horses and carriages scurried through the streets. At first, the family was stunned and confused. The father reached for his modern cell phone, which suddenly stopped working. The mother noticed that she didn’t have a modern handbag, but an old leather suitcase. The children were excited, but also a little frightened by their new surroundings.

They had to learn to live without technology—cooking on a stove, doing laundry by hand, and communicating with the locals, who knew only the old ways. But they soon began to get used to it. Their father cooked dinner over a fire while their mother took care of the children—together they gathered flowers, mushrooms, and firewood. The children began learning to play an old violin and picking up the basics of the education available at that time.

The family realized that despite the differences, their life was less stressful, and that they appreciated the simple joys more—walks in nature, time spent together, and helping one another. After a few days, they managed to find a way to return to their own time using an old clockwork mechanism.

When they returned, they were different. They had learned to appreciate technology, but they also realized how important simplicity and a connection to nature are. From then on, they lived by the belief that technology is useful, but that the greatest treasures lie in people and their relationships.

rules

No cars allowed; no JBL speakers (or other high-volume speaker brands)

When you leave, please close the windows, turn off the circuit breakers, turn off the gas, sweep and mop the floors, close and lock everything, the stove swept out, the kitchen tidied up, the compost taken out, any trash you brought with you disposed of, the grill swept and washed, and the patio benches covered
Do not light a fire on the day of departure

Please take all trash with you, avoid making unnecessary noise, etc.—you know the drill.
Warning—you are in a protected landscape area where lighting fires is prohibited by law. The owner doesn’t mind, but unfortunately that doesn’t change the law. So, lighting an outdoor fire is at your own (theoretical) risk of a possible fine. So far, that hasn’t happened :-).
Please use wood from the surrounding area for the outdoor fire—there’s plenty of it there. If you gather some wood for other visitors as well, they’ll surely be grateful... :-)

If you don’t know how to clean up the fire pit after yourself (you can find instructions online), please don’t light a fire at all. Tip: Clean ash (completely cooled!!!), free of debris, can be scattered freely with a shovel—for example, throughout the garden. Please don’t pile it up in one spot; instead, spread it out across the meadow. It makes for great garden fertilizer. When there’s snow on the ground, and if you really need to use a pile of ash, please place it in front of the wall by the old outhouses just below the driveway (to level the path) or on the compost pile next to the parking area.

Outhouse: This is a chemical facility; please do not throw anything inside that did not come from your stomach ;)

16.12 - 18.12.2025 Martin říká:
Secluded cottage with no signal, the perfect place to relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The description exactly matched the reality.
24.10 - 28.10.2025 Jana říká:
The cottage is in a work in progress, there is a lot of work done, so it is livable and cozy, perhaps only the kitchen, by being in the hallway, is cold which in warmer weather will not be a problem, overall in the summer there must be great ... outside seating, barbecue, which we could not use in cold weather unfortunately

during our stay was rainy muddy weather, so to get to the cottage you really need a car with a higher chassis, as the owner says in the description
